Expo - blue heaven

In this new exhibition, ‘blue heaven’, a fresh portrait of Piet Stockmans is presented. His granddaughter Finne Claesen selected the works. Piet Stockmans has been working with porcelain for over 60 years. The material has been the common blue line throughout his life. He has transformed porcelain from a dusty material into a medium for innovative expression through his progressive approach to clay.

Special attention is given to his industrial designs, which were primarily created for Mosa Maastricht, where he served as head designer for 26 years. After leaving Mosa in 1995, he became an independent designer and worked on a freelance basis.

Another major theme in the exhibition is his free artistic work. Stockmans' art can be seen in renowned museums such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. He has received numerous awards, including the State Prize for Visual Arts in 1988. In 1995, he was the Cultural Ambassador of Flanders.

For the exhibition, Finne, his granddaughter, delved into his archive and discovered artworks that he hadn't shown in the past 30 years. Recently graduated as an interior architect, she is giving these works the space they deserve.

The new expo can be visited from April 2, 2025. You can visit this expo until December 2026.
