Indescribable

This is perhaps still the best qualification for Stockmans' porcelain pages. As so often in the work of this clay magician, we as spectators are presented with a diabolical dilemma. Under the artist's hands, the material has taken the form of writing. And our natural inclination is to want to read what is written. However, the only way to learn about the contents of this mysterious publication seems to be to crack open and thus destroy the fragile porcelain pages.

Do we need to know everything? Or can we also know without knowing? Isn't real knowledge by definition indescribable? ‘
