blue heaven

In the course of time - 1983 and 2015

It started in 1983 with a solo presentation during the Kunstmanifestatie in the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam in the gallery's stand. Many solo and group exhibitions would follow, both in the gallery and several times during fairs at the Kunst RAI Amsterdam and Art Twente Hengelo.

The everyday is not so ordinary

It is Piet Stockmans who makes you aware of this with his work, not only with the Sonja cup that he designed in 1967 for MOSA and which was produced in large numbers, but also with the dinner sets, which are of great simplicity and perfection.

They are numbers that also play a role in his free work.

Pots in rows are playfully filled with all possible ceramic materials from his studio fused and cooked in the kiln.

Playing with the material and licking ...Great that unconventional approach to porcelain.

The plates and crucibles of porcelain from his installations pass through his hands with rhythmic regularity in small and large numbers. They are given a color, dipped in glaze, “signified” with a brush, touched by hand in the still wet porcelain.

Thus the work bears the signature of Piet Stockmans.
